El País is a Uruguayan newspaper, first published on September 14, 1918, and distributed nationwide. It previously belonged to the same media group as the television channel Teledoce. Its website is ranked 6th in Uruguay according to Alexa. Its circulation is verified by the Argentine institution IVC.
About the project
El País, one of the largest media companies in Latin America, needed to significantly enhance its web search technologies to make it easier for media searchers to find critical information.
How we worked with the client
Working in stages with the client we developed a new search technology while taking full ownership as well as improving the architecture of this project.
The Solution
Both our scientists and developers created a new search engine using several new technologies for making search easier, faster, and independent of a user’s own language or lexicon. As a result, El País now enjoys a streamlined experience while conducting searches and has extended its search technologies to a catalog-based offering.
